It may not be everything after all

We dream, we plan, we scheme and hope that things will turn out the way we wish. We get disappointed very often and when this happens often enough we become unsmiling, unsure and unable to think that something good could ever come to us. It is as if we have nothing to do with our lives, that some unseen, powerful hands were directing our lives, punishing us for some imagined transgressions and rewarding us for our piety. Like now, I had no clear idea of where this was going to go. I thought that it would find its way into the recording business and that music would play on these pages. That might turn out to be one more plan going to the waste basket.

I think that I may have to metamorphose, to change, to adapt to changing conditions or risk becoming defunct, obsolete, dead. i have the distinct feeling that something is about to change and the repercussions appear to be far-reaching. It has been so long since I had the feeling of being content, of being at home in my bed and not having a care at all in the world. Too long have I been trodden underfoot as though some bug or dust-crawling vermin. Something is happening. I just don't know what.

Our favorites are: Ching's World, Green Tea, Dumaguete, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro City, Papoy, Moira Trinity Cagayan de Oro, Dumaguete, Cebu are all in the Philippines in the world of Ching.

Is Sarua Everything?

I just learned that the name is Sarua and not Sarva courtesy of the Securities and Exchange Commission naming rules. Sarva was rejected and so was Sarwa. Hence, the name Sarua. Somehow it doesn't feel right. Who cares how I feel? I am sure I will get in line and be one of its fervent admirers. I am told that Sarua records is responsible for the term Bisdak Republic. This is cool. Finally, local bands and local music has breached the colonial mentality of only listening to foreign music. The next step is to make more locally-flavored music and bring local music to the world. Sarua has been responsible for one of their artists making it to the top prize of the Shanghai Music Festival, another feather in their hat.

Here they are: Rails brought me to Seaside, Lotto, Yamashita gold, Nothing but FLowers. Lilliput's Flowers.

I am quite stuck here in Dumaguete now but I should be going back to Cebu City soon. My final destination is really Cagayan de Oro City where I am supposed to start the tarp biz and I am close to doing that. That is, I am almost done doing the lotto pool system barring any unforeseen technical problems. I thought I would be done by the end of September and I would be comfortably doing the tarp thing Cagayan de Oro City but as it turned out, I ran out of RAM on my computer. Cagayan de Oro City had to be put on hold. I should be going to Cagayan de Oro City and set up the tarpaulin business. This is the main thing.

There are many items of interest in Ching's World, Visit also Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Moira Trinity, Dumaguete, Papoy.

Sarva Records

Sarva is a Sanskrit word which means "Everything". Sarva records may trace its roots to the Sarva Folkhouse owned and operated by Rene Mercado starting in 1975. Located in Mango Ave., in Cebu City, Sarva Folkhouse created the Folkhouse Industry in Cebu City while defining what a Folkhouse should be. Rene Mercado had envisioned Sarva to have everything that a customer could need but it was the Folkhouse which became wildly successful, attracting the best and the finest, the attractive and the beautiful.

Baby Boomers who lived in Cebu City at the time would surely remember Sarva with fondness. A few other folkhouses sprang up after it but Sarva Folkhouse reigned supreme while it lasted. Among those who frequented Sarva were Fermin Chio, Charlie Sy, Ben Roa, Pili Sison, Larry Vega, to name a few.
